“The Centre is fantastic – it’s super clean with state of the art equipment and an amazing pool, but it is the staff that makes this place great.”

What is Exercise Referral?
Exercise Referral is an opportunity for people to address their physical activity needs in a safe and effective manner.
The scheme allows clients to acquire the skills, knowledge and confidence to address their referred condition under the guidance of our highly qualified exercise instructors.
The Referral Scheme lasts for 12 weeks, during which time individuals are screened and prescribed appropriate exercise, aimed at addressing your referred condition/s.
Your progress will be assessed at a mid-term review and summarised at a finishing appointment at which point your exercising future will be discussed.
Who can attend?

Exercise Referral is available for a range of medical conditions such as;
• Coronary Heart Disease
• Stroke
• Respiratory Disease

• Recovering from an illness/injury
The Scheme is aimed at those who are currently physically inactive.
How much does it cost?

There is an initial fee of £31.70 which covers the Initial Assessment, Mid-Term Review and Finishing appointment.
Each subsequent exercise session costs £5.50 regardless of format, (class, one-to-one or independent exercise).
You are also entitled to a free tea or coffee from Reception after your exercise (subject to availability).
What Activities are available?

There are various structured Exercise Referral activities available under the scheme.
• Individualised gym programmes

We aim to reach a stage where you are able to exercise more independently towards the end of your Referral to ensure you have the confidence to continue beyond the scheme.
