Badminton England presents “The Badminton England National Awards” to individuals within the badminton community, to recognise the phenomenal work of their voluntary and coaching workforce.

We are absolutely delighted to celebrate Lesley Uphill, who has been recognised by Badminton England with the Grassroots Coach of the Year Award 2026!

Lesley is the front runnr in the development of grassroots para badminton, and she is creating so many opportunities for disabled players, not only in her local area, but all around the country. Canterbury Kings currently has over 16 disabled players, boasting one of the largest para badminton groups in the country.

This recognition is incredibly well deserved, and we couldn’t be prouder to have her as part of the Canterbury Kings team.
